A perspective from a person that is a parent and worked with individuals that have Autism and other disabilities.
Fully introducing myself and my kids is not easy for me so please have patience. For the time being I would like to be anonymous with are personal info. Yes, I’m another parent telling the story of the ups and downs we have faced. also, about my ups and downs working as a caregiver for kids with disabilities for about ten years. I have two children with Autism (Bear and Boog) and one with ODD (sissy). Although my children are high functioning, I feel we still go through some of the same challenges and obstacles as others do as well as some differences. For no one person is the same and we all see and feel things differently. So maybe our story will help someone else somewhere down the road to get over the rainbow to the other side.
As I tell my story, I ask you to turn on your favorite playlist for as you will come to find music is one of mine and my kid’s biggest outlets for coping with the daily stress and struggles, we go through. So that maybe just maybe a song will come on that helps you relate to how I felt at the moment. After all music makes every person think and feel different things at any given time.
